Katia is a dominant player in the sewing and knitting business in Spain and dates back to the 1950s. Faced with an ageing clientele, the company was keen to adapt to changes in the market and attract younger, less traditional customers that are rediscovering making clothes themselves. It was decided to create a new brand, Katia Fabrics, to focus exclusively on this part of their business and to present it as more modern and less conservative.
We developed a brand that instantly relates to fashion and fabrics by evoking the distinctive form that dressmakers scissors make. A clean typography and a monochrome scheme reinforce the idea of modernity and a no-nonsense practicality that the brand represents.
